Switzerland has the lowest hotel-stay factor of any European country in the DESNZ 2026 table — only Costa Rica sits lower worldwide. The live per-room-night figure is shown below: hydropower and nuclear together supply almost all Swiss electricity, so the energy behind a hotel room's heating, lighting and laundry is close to the cleanest available anywhere.
