Germany's official hotel-night factor — shown live below — is roughly a quarter higher than the UK's in the DESNZ 2026 table. Germany's Energiewende has built enormous wind and solar capacity, but coal still fills the gaps a decommissioned nuclear fleet left behind, keeping average grid intensity comparatively high.
